Stride

Privacy notice

Draft for beta testing · 23 October 2026. Not legal advice. Operator details, contact address and legal review are required before commercial launch.

Who is responsible

This is a draft notice for the Stride beta. The data controller’s legal identity, contact details and any applicable registration obligations must be confirmed and added before commercial launch.

Information collected

Stride stores your name, email, household membership, income, bills, loan and mortgage details, goals, budget preferences and transactions you enter. Authentication uses protected password credentials; the operator cannot retrieve your plaintext password. Stride does not collect bank login details or payment-card numbers through its budget tools.

Google sign-in

If you choose Google sign-in, Google provides account identity information such as your email address, name and profile image to authenticate you through Lovable Cloud. Stride uses this to create or sign in to your account; it does not request access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files or bank accounts. Google also processes the sign-in under its own privacy policy.

Why information is used

Information is used to run your account, share your budget with household members, calculate totals and forecasts, handle recovery requests and maintain the service. The operator must document the applicable lawful bases, including contract and legitimate interests where appropriate, before launch.

Sharing and access

Your household members can view and edit the shared budget. Ordinary users are restricted to their own household. The project operator and authorised hosting administrators may technically access stored information for administration; this is not end-to-end encrypted storage. Lovable Cloud provides hosting and account services. Processor terms, international transfers and safeguards require review before launch.

Optional AI observations

Only when you request them, income totals, category totals, budget percentages and transaction counts are sent to the configured AI service through Lovable. Account identifiers, email addresses and individual transaction descriptions are not sent. Guidance requests use general examples. AI answers are not automatically saved or used to change your budget. Provider retention and applicable contractual safeguards should be confirmed before inviting the public.

Optional spoken spending

If you consent to spoken spending, your recording is sent to the AI service for transcription and the resulting words are sent to recognise the shop and amount. Stride does not store the recording or transcript. Only the purchase details you confirm are saved to your shared budget. You can correct or cancel them before saving.

Device storage and security

Essential browser storage maintains sign-in state and remembers whether you have dismissed release notes on that device. Access controls restrict ordinary household access, but no system can promise absolute security. Keep your device and account secure and do not share invitation codes publicly.

Retention and your rights

Budget records remain stored while your beta account is used; a formal retention and backup-deletion schedule is not yet finalised. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, and object to certain uses. Contact your beta organiser to reach the operator while the formal contact channel is being prepared. UK users can raise concerns with the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
